The "NEW" in our title here is to indicate that we have no connection with the previous Craigmillar Community Council web site, or with Craigmillar First. We are still known as "Craigmillar Community Council" (CCC) and this is our official site.

Our boundary covers much more than Craigmillar there are various surrounding districts (see the boundary map) with their own distinct features,  All containing many residents who have pride in their locality and are interested in improving it for the benefit of all.

From being a desirable place to live in the thirties with a population around 15,000 The area went into decline  and the population plummeted due to factors too deep and complicated to go into here.

That stituation is now rapidly changing and we are in the midst of a 15 year regeneration programme. With much of the older properties being, or already, demolished and replaced with modern housing. The population is rising and the area is fast becoming a desirable place to live once again.

We hope you will become part of that improvement process.
